ELIZABETH
A wife and mother, Elizabeth is also a proud & successful entrepreneur, race director and motivator. Elizabeth is a 1992 graduate of the Manship School of Journalism at LSU with a B.A. in Advertising.
Elizabeth has toed the line at 7 Ironman and 8 Half Ironman triathlons, is a proud FINISHER of the 6 day TransRockies Run and an accomplished marathoner and half marathoner.
In addition to being passionate about the fitness components that comprise her business, Elizabeth also enjoys the outdoors, adventure, snow skiing, traveling, wine, family & friends. She understands the challenges involved in balancing family, business, community & personal fitness.
Elizabeth serves on the Home & School Association at Our Lady of Prompt Succor School, was instrumental in the implementation and first 3 years of Komen CenLA Race for the Cure 5K. She was presented a Key to the City by the Mayor of Alexandria in 2010.
Some outdoor fun in 2013 for the Cassano's include their annual ski trip, a 4 day backpacking trip through the Grand Canyon, some white water rafting and playing on the beach. Elizabeth's 2013 fitness goals include: being fitter at 43 than 33, a 25 and 50 mile trail run and beginning yoga (yoga goal accomplished: started practice March 2013!)!
DON
Don has been enjoying life as a triathlete and experiencing a runner's high since the spry age of 11. Don pursued his athletic career as a collegiate basketball player at Benedictine College in Kansas where he received a B.S. in Biology.
He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012, his Masters in Physical Therapy from University of St. Augusitne in St. Augustine, Florida, in 2000. Don has been a practicing Licensed Physical Therapist since July 2000. Don is Trigger Point Dry Needling & ASTYM certified, trained and educated on human biomechanics, the prevention & treatment of fitness injuries and nutrition for athletes.
Don is extremely passionate about life, his career and in helping others achieve thier goals. Don is an incredible husband & father, a 7-time Ironman Finisher, 8-time Half Ironman Finisher & multi marathoner, finishing all of the same marathons as E, plus another Disney. Don (with teammate, wife Elizabeth) is a proud FINISHER of the 6 day, 120+ mile, TransRockies Run 2009! And should we mention, Don's athletisicm and fitness keep in ready for the Blacks/Double Blacks, swinging the clubs with 7 year old Connor and raring to ride at a moments notice.
Don and E explore the outdoors, travel and experience life - together - skiing, backpacking, the white waters & more! As for fitness goals in 2013, Don plans to join E on her 25 and 50 mile trail runs!
HANNAH
Run Wild added more fun spirit & youthfulness in March 2010 when Hannah joined our team. Not only an amazing team player at Run Wild, Hannah has demonstrated her leadership, duty of responsibility and work ethic.
Hannah is a 2012 graduate of Alexandria Senior High and now attends University of Arkansas. Run Wild is privied to have Hannah remain on board during her college career!
Discovering the backstroke to be her favorite, Hannah was a competitive swimmer for 10 years. A former high school XC runner, Hannah now runs for fun! Currently, she is active in Kappa Delta sorority and student government.
Hannah’s zest for life and recognition for what makes the world go round are strong characteristics she delivers to Run Wild! She is certainly a role model for our youth! We are proud to have Hannah on the Run Wild team.
AMBER
A Louisiana girl, Amber brought her love for the outdoors and adventure to the Run Wild team in June 2012. She is a 2011 graduate of Louisiana College with a B.A. in Management/Marketing.
Playing high school softball & basketball positioned Amber as catcher for the Lady Wildcats. She is the recipient of the National Player of the Week Award: NCAA Division III NFCA, was awarded All-Conference honors & the Sportsmanship Award.
Amber has a passion for mission work, both locally & internationally. She loves CrossFit, adventure races & half-marathons and is an advocate for the health and well-being of those in CenLA. In her spare time she enjoys hitting the trails on her bike. Amber appreciates opportunities to serve the local community. Run Wild is blessed to have Amber's wit, talent and work ethic.
